癒しの裏道コース

This is a 23km trail ride from Okutama down to Ome. It offers many nature sights including the Kazuma cutting and Lake Shiromaru. Park your bike and take a refreshing walk around the valley.

Trekkling Okutama

Trekkling Okutama

1 minute walk from the Okutama station.
The trail starts from Trekkling Okutama.

Kazuma Cutting

登り道を歩いて5〜10分程度数馬の切通し

Go along the right side of the Shiromaru tunnel, and you will see a stone tunnel. Above this stone is the “Kazuma Cutting”. This was an important traffic cut, made to avoid the tough mountain paths bound to Hikawa in old times.
It is about a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Kazuma cutting, so we recommend you to trekkling along.

The first tunnel after leaving Okutama station is long, so please be careful of traffic when biking. The Kazuma cutting is on a steep cliff. (Please be cautious when wet, since it can be slippery.)

Shiromaru Dam Fish Ladder

白丸ダム白丸ダム

From the Kazumakyo bridge, go down to Ome to the Shiromaru Dam Fish Ladder.
“Shiromaru Dam fish ladder” is a special water path for the fish to go upstream through the dammed river.

Hatonosu-Ohashi Bridge

鳩ノ巣大橋付近

Where there is a “Hatonosu-Ohashi” (pigeon nest grand bridge), yes, there is a “Hatonosu-Kohashi” (pigeon nest small bridge) which is a small suspension bridge.

Try out the small one too, if you decide to go take a walk along the valley.
