Experience Okutama’s traditional wasabi.

Do you know wasabi? It’s Japan’s famous horseradish used in sushi & sashimi.
Okutama has a long history growing wasabi using its clear, mineral rich streams and springs.
Our guide, who is an expert on Okutama, will show you various sights as you cycle towards a traditional deep-valley wasabi field. Bring your curiosity.
When we arrive at the field, David, an Australian wasabi grower will reveal the secrets of wasabi, introduce local flora and fauna, and offer entrancing Okutama folk tales as well.
You will also be able to taste some freshly harvested wasabi with roast beef or tuna sashimi. (Vegetarian/vegan options are available)
We will depart from Trekkling in Okutama and finish in either Mitake or Sawaii (near Ozawa Sake Brewery).
