Had an absolutely wonderful experience at Trekkling. In between booking and going, David was attentive, responsive via email, and even gave me a suggested ride on ridewithgps. The bike was good, well maintained (I booked a gravel bike) and easy to ride. There a baggy on the bike with a lock and some tools/tube The area is absolutely stunning, especially the old road to the lake. But beyond, the roads are perfect, albeit with some quite steep sections. Can strongly recommend it!!

Just a short and surprisingly easy train ride away, you’ll find yourself surrounded by stunning scenery, peaceful countryside, and a completely different side of Tokyo. The tour moves at a relaxed pace, making it an enjoyable way to explore the area while taking in the beautiful views. David was an outstanding guide who incredibly knowledgeable, passionate about the local area, and full of interesting insights that made the experience even more memorable. He was an excellent communicator reaching out before the day to assist us with transport and navigating our way to the meeting point. The e-bikes were modern, comfortable, and very easy to ride, even on the steeper hills, so you definitely don’t need to be an experienced cyclist to enjoy the tour. The helmets had an inbuilt speaker so we could communicate whilst riding. Highly recommend this activity for anyone wanting to experience a quieter, more scenic side of Japan beyond the city.

The owner / staff was really friendly and helpful. They provided clear instructions, detailed maps and even lent me a jacket for free because that day was pretty chilly. The view to Okutama Lake was amazing.

We rented two E-bikes here and had a great day. I made reservations online prior to arriving and when one of the bikes wasn't a good fit they let us swap bikes without a problem. Very kind people and super helpful. They have different routes you can follow and give a full detailed explanation before departure which really helps. We will definitely rent here again when we come back to Japan, because it's such a smooth experience and there is so much more to see!

I have done a great guided cycling tour with Cycling Tours and Rentals - Trekkling in Okutama. David is a wonderful guide. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and a great communicator. The e-bikes are of high quality, so even the steepest climbs were easy to do. Besides enjoying the amazing scenery, I also learned a lot about the local history and culture. So for anyone who is looking for a nice and unusual cycling tour around Tokyo, I highly recommend!

Renting a bike here and riding to the nearby lake was a great daytrip from Tokyo. The nature we got to see during their "route A" was astonishing! Definitely some of the best we got to see in our 30 days in Japan. The selection of bikes is nice and the website makes booking easy. The staff was kind and helpful. Retrieving and returning the bikes was easy too. We got a nearby brewery/restaurant (Vertere) recommend after our ride and that was exactly what we needed!

We rented gravel/road bikes for two days, and the riding was amazing!! Our second day was a ~36 mile ride with ~3000’ of gain, and it was stunning. We worked with David before hand to book the bikes and he was helping us in person at the shop as well. He was super super helpful. He has amazing recommendations of where to stop along the ride and helpful tips for biking in Japan.
