HOW TO RENT | TREKKLING

Choose a Bike
Depending on the route and your fitness level, check what bike suits you best.

Choose a Course
Check where you would like to go, we will provide a map when you come.

Book
By online or by phone.
In the case of online booking, a confirmation email will be sent to you. If you don’t receive it, please check your spam folder.

Rent
Arrive around the time of your booking slot, if you are late don’t worry, your bike is reserved for the whole day.
You will be asked to show your ID card at the reception desk, receive an explanation about the routes and how to use the bike. Also please specify where you would like to return your bike.

Cycle
Enjoy your trip.
Please obey the traffic rules and avoid the main road from Lake Okutama.

Return
Return the bike by 5pm to Trekkling in Okutama or cycle to Ozawa sake brewery, Ome or Kabe. If you change your drop off point location, please let us know.

After
Checkout the river, hot spring, visit a local izakaya or sample some craft beer.

Before you rent

Please read the following notes carefully before making a rental reservation.

Bring your ID
Driver’s license, insurance card, student ID, passport, residence card, etc.
Please be sure to wear appropriate clothes and footwear.
Beach sandals, high heels, and long skirts should not be worn
Please prepare a backpack for your luggage.
Most of our bikes do not come with a basket for luggage.
Please bring your own rain gear.
The weather in the mountains can be changeable. Please prepare rain wear.

In case of rain

If the weather forecast indicates that the weather will be bad on the day of the rental, we will notify the customer by 5:00 p.m. on the day before the rental to cancel.

Cancellation after making a reservation

Please be sure to contact us by 5:00 p.m. the day before the rental.
If you cancel without notifying us, you will be required to pay the full rental fee.

Other details

Hours of operation are from 9:00 to 17:00 (last rental at 15:00).
Trekking is for people who can ride a bike easily and comfortably by themselves.
Helmets are available for free rental. Please be sure to wear it.
Bicycles are equipped with a lock and key.
Bicycles are not available for those under 138cm in height.
Rentals are only available to those between the ages of 12 and 69. (12 to 16 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
We do not provide bicycles for infants or children with child seats.

Return options

Apart from returning the bike at Trekkling, you can return it at the following three locations in Ome City.
