Hello from TREKKLING, your bike rental shop in Okutama, Tokyo!
We’re excited to introduce three new road bikes that have just joined our rental fleet!
They are all from TREK’s popular Domane series, equipped with disc brakes.
But there’s actually a special reason why we decided to add these three bikes.
“I’m 190 cm tall. Do you have a road bike that fits me?”
We’ve been receiving more and more inquiries like this lately.
Many of our international guests are 180 cm or 190 cm tall, and some are even close to 200 cm!
Until now, we sometimes had to turn down rental requests simply because we didn’t have a road bike large enough.
And that’s a shame, especially when someone has traveled all the way to Okutama to enjoy cycling!
So we thought, why not bring in some larger road bikes?
That’s why we’ve added these two models:
TREK Domane AL2 Disc — Size 61 (Blue)
TREK Domane AL3 Disc — Size 58 (White)
The size 61 is generally suitable for riders around 185–195 cm tall, while the size 58 is recommended for riders around 180–190 cm.
Of course, height is only a guideline. Leg length, body proportions, and riding position also matter, so please feel free to ask us about sizing.
We’re happy that we can now welcome more tall cyclists to enjoy the beautiful roads of Okutama!
Why did we also choose a size 44?
While two of our new bikes are designed for taller riders, we also decided to add a much smaller 44 cm frame, suitable for cyclists around 150–160 cm tall.
We often welcome couples, families and groups of friends with quite different heights. For example, one person might be 190 cm tall while their partner is only 155 cm.
We want everyone to have the opportunity to enjoy road cycling together, regardless of their height.
By adding both large and small frame sizes, we can now accommodate a much wider range of cyclists.
And when you see the size 44 and size 61 standing side by side, the difference is quite impressive!
Some of Our Guests Even Cycle All the Way to Kyoto!
While many of our customers enjoy day trips around Okutama and Ome, others have much bigger adventures in mind!
We’ve had international visitors rent our bikes for one or two weeks, cycling through the mountains around Mt. Fuji and even travelling all the way to Kyoto.
It’s always interesting to hear about their journeys and the places they discover along the way.
The TREK Domane is an endurance road bike, designed for comfort on longer rides, making it a great choice for exploring Japan on two wheels.
Special Rates for Longer Rentals
For cyclists planning multi-day trips, we offer discounted weekly and monthly rental rates on our new TREK Domane bikes.
| Rental Period | Price |
|---|---|
| 1 day | ¥7,000 |
| 1 week | ¥25,000 |
| 2 weeks | ¥37,000 |
| 3 weeks | ¥44,000 |
| 1 month (30 days) | ¥50,000 |
We also offer pannier bags with rear racks and SPD pedals for those planning longer cycling adventures.
Whether you’re exploring the roads around Okutama or setting off on a journey across Japan, we’d love to help you get started!

Flat Tire Repair Kits for Long-Distance Riders

One thing every long-distance cyclist needs to think about is getting a flat tire.
And if you get a flat in the mountains, finding a nearby bicycle shop can be difficult.
Actually, around here, you’re very unlikely to find one!
That’s why we provide a flat tire repair kit as standard equipment for experienced cyclists taking on long-distance rides or multi-day rentals.
The kit includes:
- Spare inner tube
- Tire levers
- CO₂ inflator
- CO₂ cartridges
- Multi-tool
These tools allow riders with basic repair experience to handle common punctures themselves and continue their journey.
We also offer optional pannier bag rentals for cyclists who want to carry luggage on longer trips.
Pack your bags, hop on your bike, and explore Japan at your own pace.
Sounds like a great adventure, doesn’t it?
But What Happens If Your Bike Breaks Down in the Mountains?

This is where one of TREKKLING’s most valued services comes in.
Okutama and Ome are fantastic places for cycling, surrounded by mountains, forests, rivers, and lakes.
But what happens if your bicycle breaks down and you can’t continue riding?
Well, things can get a little tricky.
In some mountain areas, getting a taxi isn’t easy.
Local buses may run only a few times a day, and you generally need a proper bicycle transport bag to bring your bike on board.
Cycling in the mountains is quite different from cycling in the city!
That’s why, if one of our rental bikes breaks down and becomes impossible to ride, TREKKLING offers a support service where we bring a replacement bicycle to you by car.
Of course, availability depends on your location and the circumstances, but this is one of the services our customers really appreciate.
We believe that renting a bicycle shouldn’t simply mean handing over the keys and saying goodbye.
We want our guests to feel as comfortable and confident as possible while exploring Okutama and Ome.
After all, whether you’re enjoying a day off or traveling through Japan, we want you to go home with wonderful memories!
