For customers who are planning to visit us between April 27th and May 6th
Since we have many guests every year during Golden week, we would like to inform you of a few things to keep in mind.
If you are renting as a group, please have the leader make a reservation for all members of the group together. OR If you make each reservation seperately, please write the name of the group leader in the remarks box.
(1) The time when reservations start coming in rapidly is from mid-April! (We have 42 e-bikes and 31 cross bikes, for a total of 73 bikes) but we may be booked out on some days during the GW season. Click here to make a reservation.
*Please note. If you have not made a reservation and there are no bicycles available on the day of your visit, you will not be able to rent a bicycle. However, bicycles that have been rented may be returned between 1pm and 2pm. Please contact us to inquire about renting the returned bicycles.
*Priority is given to those with reservations on the day of the visit. Please understand that you may have to wait if you turn up without a booking.
*If you make a reservation for the wrong size or model of bicycle, there is no guarantee that another size or model will be available on the day of the tour!
(2) During Golden week, there is a high possibility that parking lots in Okutama will not be available!
We do not have a parking lot and because Okutama is a steep mountainous area, the nearest parking lots are few and far between. We recommend that you come by train.
(Our shop is only a minute or two walk from Okutama station.)
(3) Please note that there will be no cycling or fishing tours during Golden week.
(4) During GW, the busiest time in the store is from 10:00 to 12:00. If you want to make your departure procedures smooth or if you want to enjoy the whole day, we recommend that you come to the shop at 9:00. (Also, please check the transfer information and timetable in advance as the number of trains is limited.)
(Number of trains arriving at JR Okutama Station: 4 trains at 9:00, 3 at 10:00, 2 at 11:00, 1 at 12:00, and 2 at 13:00)
(4) Busy days during GW: In past years, reservations are usually made on the second (4/28) and third (4/29) days after the start of G.W., and on May 3, 4, and 5.
(5) Date of closure of bike stores during GW:
• Ozawa Sake Brewery ⇒ Cannot return bicycles on 4/30 and 5/7.
• Ome (Aoyagi Bicycle Shop) ⇒ Cannot return bicycles on 4/29 and 5/2 to 5/6.
• Kabe (Bicycle Koki Shop) ⇒ Cannot return bicycles from 5/1 to 5/3.
(6) Please refrain from traveling toward Ome on May 2 and 3, because the Ome Grand Festival will be held and roads are closed.
(Ozawa Sake Brewery near Sawai Station is still available.)
(7) Weather conditions may be unstable during GW. Please be sure to bring rain gear. Disposable coats are available for purchase in the shop. In the event of extremely bad weather, we may have to close the shop. In this case, we will notify you the day before.
*If you cancel after 5:00 p.m. on the day before the rental date even though the rental is not cancelled, you may be charged a cancellation fee. Please understand this in advance. Also, the spring weather forecast is very changeable, so please check the weather forecast for Okutama in the evening just before the day before.
